We are just one month into the new year and this is the crucial time of the year when the resolutions that we made at the end of last year are starting to wear a little thin. One plan which most of us make is to fix our finances, especially after perhaps a little overspending during the holiday season.
It is important then, that as we hurtle on through the year, that you stay strong when it comes to your financial promises which you made at the beginning of the year. Here are some tips to help you stay on track
You may think that a financial advisor is just what rich people or large companies do when they want to invest large sums of cash, but you can get a lot of great help if you decode to consult a financial advisor. My buddy Adam Rosenfeld Merrill Lynch financial adviser always gives me great tips and tricks about how to better manage my money. Although you will be paying out for a consultation, you should consider this as an investment rather than a spend.
Cut The Bills
You’d be surprised at how many monthly bills you are probably paying too much money for an if you spend a little time trying to get better deals then you can cut down your monthly expenditure by quite some way. Home phone, broadband, insurance and energy companies will not be calling you when they have better deals for you and if you want to pay less then start making some phone calls and getting some better deals.
Track Your Spends
In order to cut your spending you first need to know exactly what you are spending your money on. A great way that I found to do this is to download one of the many phone applications which allow you to track your spends. All you need to do is make a quick note of what you have spent and what you have spent it on and then at the end of the month you will be able to see a breakdown of your spends. You’ll probably be quite alarmed at just how much money you spend on things with little value and once you have this info then you can start to really make an effort to cut down on what you are spending.
Look For Additional Income
In order to really give your finances a boost then why not look for other opportunities to earn money. You don’t necessarily have to get a second job but you could look at online activities which will pay you a little extra. There are lots of different ways in which you can make a bit of extra cash in your spare time and if you really want to turn your finances around then look to earn some more money in any way that you can.
